“Anthropic is on the cutting edge of AI, so of course I should listen to them.” If that’s your belief, I apologize in advance because I'm about to destroy worldview.

I’m Josh Freeman, co-founder of Elevate and an enterprise architect with 15+ years of experience writing code. I spend a lot of time evaluating AI models and thinking about what actually makes sense for the businesses I work with.

And here’s the thing ... AI companies have incentives, too. Anthropic isn’t just trying to build the best AI. They’re trying to build a profitable company — and their enterprise strategy is a huge part of that. So when Anthropic tells you what the future of AI looks like, I don’t automatically accept it.

The smartest thing you can do with AI isn’t blindly follow the companies building it. It’s understand their incentives.
