Companies throw every good practice out the window the second AI enters the room.

There is a hard lesson every business eventually learns: start with the problem, then find the right tool for the job.

If you have ever been part of an organization that bought a tool first and then bent it to fit a very specific business process, you know the pain of doing it backwards. Mentally and monetarily.

AI is no different. It is a very very capable tool when used appropriately, but there are different flavors.

Handing your company a Claude or ChatGPT subscription and telling employees to "learn the tool and work faster" is no different than buying software and throwing it at your team. Chat based AI platforms are built for individuals. They were never designed for repeatable, scalable, or auditable business workflows.

If you want to build intelligent processes into your business, start with the business problem, define measurable success criteria, then decide what flavor of AI actually fits.

Maybe you need a background workflow that understands the meaning behind your emails. Maybe you want an agent that builds quotes directly in your CRM.

Are you building AI into your business, or just hoping your employees figure it out?
