AI IS MAKING PEOPLE OVERCONFIDENT – AND THAT CAN BE DANGEROUS

Does anyone say “I don’t know” anymore? “Let me ask Claude…” Just kidding. But seriously, AI can make us more confident without making us more accurate -- and that’s not a great combination.

I’m Josh Freeman, co-founder of Elevate, where we build AI workflows that run on the platforms you already use, at a fraction of the cost. Trust me, I spend a lot of time thinking about not just what AI can do, but where we need to question it.

Researchers found that people using AI were much less likely to say “I don’t know,” while also answering fewer questions correctly. Their confidence, however, soared.

That’s the problem. AI should be a thinking partner -- NOT AN UNQUESTIONABLE AUTHORITY.
